Stratford's most secluded motel, and Resort Property with its 16 comfortable, immaculate rooms, is nestled at beautiful McCarthy Lake, in the heart of Perth County. Surrounded by 30 acres of woodland and marshes,.it is ideal for hiking, strolls, bird watching and tranquility even though it is only nine minutes from downtown Stratford and seven minutes from the Festival Theatre. The motel itself is located 1 km off Ontario St. East (Hwy 7/8) and has 14 units. The McCarthy House (located separately at the back of the lake) has two units. All rooms are non-smoking.
The Forest Motel is home to over 60 species of birds and waterfowl and 30 kinds of mammals, reptiles and fish. Take a hike on the trails, through the forest, or explore the waters. Of the thirty acres you enjoy here, seventeen acres are protected under wetlands designation and a further eleven acres are protected forest. You will feel in touch with a marvelous creation.
